The Sorion Mintaka S1028 is an extremely useful device for the integration of data capture functionality onto assembly lines.
The Mintaka unit has a 2 line 20 character VFD display with an embedded microprocessor, an Ethernet interface, barcode reader interface and a limited amount of discrete Inputs and output allowing integration with conveyor systems.
The Mintaka unit is interfaced to the production system using standard TCP/IP Ethernet .
Interfacing to a barcode reader using a RS232C and the provision of 5v to power the reader.
The Mintaka also provides 4 opto-isolated digital inputs and 4 relay outputs, and 4 analogue inputs. This I/O allows for interlocking with systems or limited local sequence control.
The S1028's inbuilt watchdog system ensures that the unit is protected from the possible adverse effects of a poor power supply and is always operational.
