The Sorion Rigel-ICE (In Car Entertainment) is a single board microprocessor that is specifically designed for the testing of the installation of the ICE system fitted to modern vehicles.
The Rigel-ICE is a member of the Sorion Rigel family which is based around the Hitachi H8S 16 bit processor, has an embedded real time operating system (RTOS).
The Rigel-ICE board is designed to be battery powered and has the necessary battery charging and management hardware to provide a system that works for many hours between charge. Because of the Rigel's low power consumption, a recent application using a 2,000mAh Lithium Polymer battery provides in excess of 10 hours use between charges and a recharge time of 10 hours maximum.
