The Sorion Rigel-TCP (Total Control Processor) is a single board microprocessor that is specifically designed for the real time control and data acquisition environment.
Rigel-TCP is based around the Hitachi H8S 16 bit processor, has an embedded real time operating system (RTOS) and is programmed in a control basic language using readily available tools.
The wide operating voltage range and the low power requirements make the Rigel-TCP ideal for small portable battery powered applications.

As well as having a good compliment of inputs and outputs aimed squarely at the test and control arena, the Rigel-TCP has an Ethernet port that not only offers TCP/IP communications with the Rigel-TCP but has an integrated JAVA web server allowing control and monitoring to be performed remotely using a standard web browser.
The Rigel-TCP is ideal for the control of Stepper motors with feedback from encoders and load cells, control of analogue control loops and communication with external ECU control units. Sorion has developed a number of standard procedures that make the writing of an application achievable in a matter of hours.
The ease of downloading the code to the card and the debugging facilities provide a easy to work with and flexible environment.

Sorion can supply Rigel-TCP cards to a differing level of build, thus allowing the most cost effective integration possibilities.

The Rigel-TCP card has already been deployed in a number of automotive assembly and test projects with some of the world leading luxury vehicle manufacturers and is currently being used in a Poka-Yoka system for a Tier 1 supplier.

The ease of communications with the card means that PC based utilities to allow (in this case calibration) can easily be developed.
Sorion would be happy to discuss your requirements for Rigel-TCP cards or provide you with fully built up solutions. Please contact Sorion for further information regarding Rigel-TCP.
