Accessories
To complement the Rigel VCi3, Sorion offer a range of options and accessories.
Options - options are factory fit and must be specified at the time of order.
The optional internal 720mAh Lithium Polymer battery pack can provide up to 6 hours of operation, depending on internal or external options and program execution. Charging of the battery occurs when the unit is powered by the external power or USB, taking up to 16 hours for a full charge.
The Rigel VCi3 will seamlessly switch between external, USB or battery power with no loss of operation. The internal power supply circuit design takes power from any available source, be that via the interface connector or the USB port (the USB port power mode is switch-able using the Sorion RConsole software).
SD/MMC Expansion card - (VCi3-SDC)
The optional SD/MMC card carrier is available to provide significant data storage facilities. The SD/MMC card is accessible under the removable access cover providing security during use on the factory floor. Data storage up to 2GByte is available.
The SD (Secure Data) or MMC (Multimedia Card) memory card carrier is interfaced to the Rigel VCi3 by SPI and the inbuilt software drivers within Venom-SC allow the creation of FAT file systems on the cards for either storing of data or loading data to the Rigel VCi3.
Data written to the SD/MMC card can then be read via a card reader into the appropriate PC application. Also data files can be transferred to the Rigel VCi3 for use by your application.
Accessories - accessories are user fit and can be ordered with the VCi3 or at a later date.
The OBDII / J1962 lead allows the VCi3 to be connected to current vehicles. These are supplied with a standard J1962 connector (Sorion SEL0051M - Type A) with a 2m cable to the 25 way D Type. The lead connects to vehicle power, CAN and K Line on the standard ISO defined J1962 pins.

The VCi3 mounting plate allows the Rigel VCi3 to be easily fitted for fixed installations. The Rigel VCi3 simply pushes onto four mounting bushes and is retained adequately for both horizontal and vertical mounting arrangements.
The mounting plate is made from aluminium and is provided with standard 100mm VESA mounting points allowing the Rigel VCi3 to be directly mounted to a flat surface or to be mounted via a swivel mount.
Sorion can also provide an adjustable VESA mount to allow swivel and tilt mounting.
A 12v 1A power supply module (230V plug-in module) is available and it is provided with a 25 way D-Type connector to allow the Rigel VCi3 to be powered. The power supply will also provide battery charging for a unit supplied with the optional battery pack.
Vehicle Power Adaptor - (VCi3-VPA)
When the Rigel VCi3 is not connected to a suitable source of 12v power (i.e. the J1962 connector) when used within a vehicle, a vehicle power adaptor is available that plugs into the power socket (Cigar lighter) within a vehicle.
A 1.8m A-B USB cable allowing connection of the Rigel VCi3 to a PC for programming or peripheral use.
