Position: Software / Control / Electronics / Automation Engineers
Profile: The main function of these positions is the design, implementation
and commissioning of hardware and software for electronic test, process control and automation systems.
The role will involve all phases of the project lifecycle,
quotation and requirements assistance, design and specification implementation, documentation, installation, commissioning and handover. A
significant amount of time will be spent working on client-server networking,
communications and hardware development / interfacing, using TCP/IP, USB, CAN, RS232 and direct I/O
knowledge working towards component based solutions.
Development will be with Windows XP/2000 PC and micro-controller systems,
predominantly using VB6 / VB.net, nut also PHP, SQL, Assembler and C. Development under other languages and operating environments is also
likely. The role requires an understanding of of TCP/IP and other communications
protocols, including CAN, LIN and ISO-15765 as well as a good understanding of
electronic, electrical and vehicle systems.
The right candidate should have proven ability to both work on new developments
whilst extending and maintaining code developed by others.

Self-motivation, discipline and a desire to understand why or how are important, as is the tenacity to stick with and resolve a problem. Much of our work is engineering or automotive focused, therefore a good knowledge and interest in motor vehicles and the motor industry would also be of benefit. Good general personal presentation and communication is expected, and the positions will involve travel to customer installations, therefore a driving licence is also a requirement.
