Profile: The main function of this position is the design, implementation
and commissioning of software for electronic test and automation systems.
Development will be under Windows XP/2000 using VB6 / VB.net, SQL / TSQL and
XML. Development under other languages and operating environments is also
likely. It is expected that the role will also involve operating system and 3rd
party software usage, system building and general systems administration.
The position involves the latter phases of the software lifecycle,
implementation, documentation, installation, commissioning and handover. A
significant amount of time will be spent working on client-server networking,
communications and hardware interfacing, using TCP/IP, RS232 and direct I/O
knowledge working towards component based solutions.
The right candidate should have proven ability to both work on new developments
whilst extending and maintaining code developed by others.

Position: Systems Support Engineer
Profile: The main
function of this position is to provide customer support and helpdesk services
as well as undertaking internal commissioning and testing for Sorion’s software
and electronic test and assembly systems.
This scope of support includes PC hardware, operating system and application
software for test PC’s and servers as well as the associated peripherals,
cabling and networking.
Most systems are Windows NT / 2000 based, requiring housekeeping, documentation
and record keeping with regular customer liaison. The position requires a
significant input into the definition and maintenance of systems documentation
for installed facilities.
The position requires participation in a 7x24 on-call schedule to provide
support to our customer base, this would involve initial contact, remote access
and problem escalation as well as occasional call out visits.
