10th September officially marked our 25th year of trading and to celebrate we held an open day for our clients, suppliers, business associates, employees and family. Details are included in this newsletter.
I am delighted to report that we have just had of our most successful year of trading for profitability, turnover and growth in terms of client base, employee numbers and production space. And with new car sales in September reaching an all time high with 462,517 new cars being registered in the UK, up 8.6% on the same month last year, we remain optimistic for the last quarter of 2015, and beyond.

Welcoming two new team members
To assist us in achieving our growth plans we have recently employed Kevin Dodson as our new Technical Sales Engineer. This is a newly created position and we are confident that Kevin will help us capitalise on the current market by reaching out to new customers.
As part of our commitment to supporting and training young people within the industry, we have taken on a new apprentice in Riyadh Rahman who joins us as an Apprentice Workshop Technician.
25th anniversary open day celebrations
To mark our 25th anniversary and to celebrate our most successful year since the company was started in 1990, we hosted an open day at our offices earlier in September, which saw over 100 people attend.
The open day proved to be a huge success and it was great to spend time with so many of our customers and suppliers, many of whom had travelled a fair distance, as well as our employees, family members and local business associates.
Sir Albert Bore, elected Councillor for Birmingham Ladywood and Leader of the Labour Group of Birmingham City Council, attended as Guest of Honour. Sir Albert Bore gave a speech in which he commented: “Sorion is a true success story demonstrating how hard work, dedication, coupled with talented people can see a company come through recession and grow year on year. Sorion is a great example of the talent that Birmingham and the West Midlands has within electronics, engineering and manufacturing.
“I enjoyed the time I spent at Sorion’s manufacturing facility and it was interesting to speak with so many of their employees and customers and to see working demonstrations of their test equipment.”

We’re exhibiting at the Advanced Engineering Show
We are exhibiting at the Advanced Engineering Show which is taking place at the NEC, Birmingham on 4th & 5th November 2015.
The show is designed to allow the supply chain meet with visiting engineering and procurement managers from OEMs and top tier organisations spanning aerospace, automotive, motorsport, marine, civil engineering and others. If you plan on attending, please drop by stand H44 and say hello!

Case Study – Denso Europe
