We travelled to Liverpool on Friday 17th June for the Made in the UK Awards Final to compete with the winners from 10 regions over the UK.
The awards ceremony is one of the UK’s largest national manufacturing awards dinners, bringing together in excess of 500 manufacturers.
We were victorious in the regional finals in May, winning the award for SME Manufacturing Company of the Year. Going forward to the national final saw the SME awards category merge with the Large Manufacturing Business category, which in total had a shortlist of fourteen companies.

Giles Brandreth compered the event and on the night the award went to Jaguar Land Rover, a worthy winner investing heavily in product and staff development. Although we didn’t win, we feel honoured to have been shortlisted and considered for the same award as Jaguar Land Rover.
Steve Hayes, Commercial Director commented: “I would like to congratulate the team at Sorion for getting us shortlisted for the Best Manufacturing Company of the Year Award at one of the UK’s largest national manufacturing awards ceremonies.
“I couldn’t be more proud that Sorion made it to the national finals and I’m honoured to have been shortlisted for the Best Manufacturing Company of the Year Award.”
