INTRODUCING SEXTANS WORKSPACE MANAGER
Following an extensive development process, we’re excited to announce the release of Sextans Workspace Manager.
The replacement for Sextans Editor, Workspace Manager is the new management software for Sorion’s Sextans Runtime application, allowing you to configure Locations, Users, Process Workflow steps and manufacturing equipment.
How is Workspace Manager different?
Taking in customer feedback, our team has developed a new application, integrating new features that customers have been requesting, such as:
- Working Sets – Segregation of managed changes from master data with ability to trial before “going live”
- Direct station control of changes between working sets
- Advanced and Basic modes of operation.
Workspace Manager also gives us greater flexibility for future functionality additions.
New Look & Feel
The new application showcases a user interface that is consistent with the rest of Sorion’s software portfolio. The general layout has been designed with ease of use in mind, providing quick access to the different tools and options.
Working sets
Workspace Manager introduces “Working Sets” (‘WS’), an environment within the dataset (‘DS’) that allows you to segregate your changes from the master data. This allows multiple users to be developing and maintaining a project in separation from one another. This hugely reduces the risk of half complete changes being released to the line before completion.
Advanced and Basic view
Workspace Manager has two modes: Basic mode and Advanced mode.
- Basic view: presents the bare minimum of controls required for day to day use
- Advanced view: provides the full set of options for the advanced user
When will Workspace Manager be available?
We will be deploying Workspace Manager on all new projects from October 2021.
