10 things you didn’t know Sextans could do

Since the launch of Sextans process control software in 2009, our team have been continuously expanding the capabilities of the system so customers have a solution they can rely on now and in the future.

Here are 10 things you probably didn’t know you could do with Sextans:

1. Central Management

Sextans Workspace Manager* puts you in control.

The system is centrally managed and allows you to rebalance lines, create and amend processes and manage users. Management of the system can be handled by you in house.

2. Sequenced Production & Error Proofing

Sextans provides end-to-end manufacturing control to ensure that all parts are supplied to the OEM at the right time and in the right sequence.

Using Sextans you can detect errors as they occur in production, before they become bigger issues down the line.

3. Machine integration

Integration with factory machines and conveyor systems allowing for build process control, traceability results collection and OEE status.

4. AMR integration

Integration of Autonomous Mobile Robots into a guided assembly solution.

Our Fleetware application links the operation of AMRs with the overall workflow, processes and environmental systems of a facility, including pick to light systems, assembly stations, test systems.

5. Provenance

All Sextans systems record internal hardware and software serial number & version number against product ID to ensure a comprehensive traceability record of your production.

6. Defect location

This feature is to allow an operator to mark on an image of the assembly where there are defects in the visual appearance of the product, e.g. scratches, creases etc.

This data can be viewed in Orion as a measles chart of defects over given time periods.

7. Failed PCs can be replaced in minutes

Shop floor PCs can be easily replaced using the quick release securing system.

Sextans Workspace Manager is used to configure all stations by connecting to a central configuration database.

8. User access control

RFID and Dynamic Login support for security and user management.

User access control is centrally managed in the Workspace Manager. It prevents unauthorised system access enforcing user roles and privileges.

9. Time stamping

Time stamping for each process and timing data for each completed step is recorded for a digital history of the entire production process, allowing you to analyse station operational performance and loading.

10. Andon / Takt & OEE support

  • Cycle Time and Build Target Counters
  • Takt Warning Alarms
  • Scripted Andon & Availability Message Generation
  • Machine Monitoring
  • Audible Alerts for PC
