THE COMPANY

Sorion designs and manufactures bespoke guided assembly, collaborative robotics, and end of line test systems to a range of industry sectors: automotive, aerospace, warehousing and manufacturing.

THE ROLE

We are now looking for a Project Manager to lead complex engineering projects for our customers and ensure they are completed on time and within budget.

With us you will be working on a variety of exciting projects: robotics and automation solutions, pick to light, assembly and end of line test systems. Your hard work will help us solve complex manufacturing and logistics challenges to increase efficiency and improve quality and traceability for our customers.

LOCATION AND COMMITMENTS

This is a permanent full-time role based in our Birmingham office (outside the CAZ) with occasional onsite customer visits across the UK

Your role will involve:

  • Prepare and agree with departmental managers the project plans, milestones, tasks, and budgets
  • Have a comprehensive overview of projects, identify any likely bottlenecks, and help to identify alternative solutions
  • Ensure effective communication between internal engineers, suppliers, and customers
  • Maintain visible project plans
  • Organise regular project review meetings (internal and with customers)
  • Liaise with customers for on-time availability of design data and sample parts
  • Ensure all contract variances are tracked and the final contract reviews are performed promptly
  • Support the quotation and order winning process as required

Qualification and Education

  • A degree in an appropriate subject and/or industrial experience

Preferred Skills / Experience

  • Knowledge of working in a practical process control and automation environment
  • Experience of factory installation

Additional

  • Attention to detail and passionate about your work
  • Good personal presentation and communication
  • Willing to work at the client site when required
  • Full Driving license and own car
